IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics (HPDA), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ more than 150 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running three supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s, installed in the summer of 2021), Salomon (2 PFlop/s, installed in the summer of 2015), Barbora (849 TFlop/s, installed in the autumn of 2019), and the specialised NVIDIA DGX-2 system for artificial intelligence computation, (130 TFlop/s and 2 PFlop/s in AI, installed in the spring of 2019). Research Assistant for the Infrastructure Research Lab                   

for project REFRESH - Research Excellence For REgion Sustainability and High-tech Industries (CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000048), research program 3 - Research in the field of digitalization and transformation of the energy in the position of Junior researcher I EL (M)                        

                              

Activity description:                   

  • work in a research team focusing on applications of mathematics in the field of digitalization and transformation of the energy sector,          
  • conducting research and publishing  under the guidance of excellent researchers and senior researchers,
  • contributing to the preparation of national or international projects,
  • continuously improving his/her qualifications,
  • contributing to the cooperation with partner institutions.       

                              

Full-time equivalent: part-time employment, 0.5

Type of job contract: fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment: as agreed

We require:                      

  • master's degree in mathematics or related disciplines,              
  • knowledge of numerical methods used for solving PDEs,       
  • knowledge of numerical optimisation and statistics,
  • experience with programming in Python and C is an advantage,         
  • willingness to further educate yourself and work in a team,   
  • experience in cooperation with international teams is an advantage,              
  • active knowledge of the English language.
