IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics (HPDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Quantum Computing (QC) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ more than 150 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running three supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s, installed in the summer of 2021), Barbora (849 TFlop/s, installed in the autumn of 2019), the specialised NVIDIA DGX-2 system for artificial intelligence computations, (130 TFlop/s and 2 PFlop/s in AI, installed in the spring of 2019), and will host quantum computer thanks to the LUMI-Q HE project. IT4Innovations is a member of the consortium that operates the largest European supercomputer, LUMI.                   

Innovation Technology Developer – Service Operations Specialist

for the Avanced Data Analysis and Simulations Lab

 

Activity description:                   

  •  implementation and maintenance of DevOps methods (CI/CD pipelines),   
  • development and operation of complex distributed services, including monitoring and responding to alerts, 
  • testing automation and documentation,         
  • deployment of new components and services,            
  • limited amount of development.          

                              

Full-time equivalent: full-time employment

Type of job contract: fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment: 1. 9. 2024 or as agreed

                              

We require:                      

  • masters degree  in computer science/software engineering,             
  • knowledge of concepts such as REST APIs, zero-trust, microservices,           
  • provable programming skills in either Python or C# (.NET Core),    
  • good communication skills in the English language, both spoken and written,            
  • min. 1 year of experience with the following technologies:             

                 – containers (Docker, Podman),            

                 – virtual Machines (VMWare, OpenStack),      

                 – CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub),   

                 – basic networking (IP routing, NAT, VLANs), 

                 – API gateways and HTTP proxies (nginx, HAProxy),    

                 – web-based authentication (OIDC, JWT, OAuth2),    

  • optional experience with the following technologies is an advantage:             

                 – S3 object storage,     

                 – kubernetes   

                 – openAPI         

                 – HPC clusters (MPI, SLURM),

  • will to work in an international environment that requires good communication skills in the English language, both spoken and written,     
  • good communication skills and independent problem-solving,           
  • ability to learn new technologies and to work in a dynamic research environment.
