In just five hours, an incredible 730 visitors came to IT4Innovations for the Researchers' Night and had the unique opportunity to get a glimpse into the fascinating world of supercomputing. And what did they discover?
The tours gave visitors a behind-the-scenes look at our supercomputing centre, revealing technological secrets and what it takes to run these huge machines. In the HPC Showroom, they saw retired supercomputer parts, peeked into the data room, and learned how scientists work with supercomputers and run their computational tasks on them.
We prepared talks for curious visitors on modern technologies that are changing the world – from artificial intelligence and quantum computing to how supercomputers are helping Czech companies save time and money.
Children and adults took part in activities such as Supercraft Adventures, where they completed tasks and activated a supercomputer portal. Nearly 70 visitors were transformed into their favourite film or music stars using Deep Fake, while another 100 enjoyed a virtual tour of our data room.
The programme also included the opportunity to have your retinas scanned in collaboration with Bonmedix. This project uses neural networks to detect diabetic retinopathy (diabetic blindness) and represents the next step in the integration of medicine and modern technology.
You can enjoy the atmosphere of the event and the busy programme in the photo gallery. Thank you to everyone who joined us! And if you missed it this year, don't worry – we're already looking forward to the next edition of this popular nationwide event!
