Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the vast majority of conferences became virtual. The biggest high-performance computing event of this year, Supercomputing Conference 2021, provided an opportunity for scientists, supercomputing centres, companies, and HPC enthusiasts to meet again.
The Supercomputing Conference, which covers high-performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis, took place from 14 to 19 November in hybrid mode. The international conference welcomed more than 3,200 participants in St. Louis, USA, and attendees who could not travel joined the conference virtually. The Czech National Competence Center in HPC, which was created under the auspices of the EuroCC project, was on site among the exhibitors of this supercomputing event and promoted its activities via the booth of IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center.
The conference-goers had the opportunity to get information about the National Competence Center in HPC Czech Republic, watch the EuroCC video, have a look at our new leaflet, and grab promotional items with the logo of the EuroCC project. Many attendees joined our competition, which awarded six lucky winners with wonderful prizes. Our activities at SC21 helped to disseminate the activities of the EuroCC project, increased subscription to our newsletter and attracted more followers to our social media channels.
This year´s conference gathered in total more than 6,550 high-performance computing professionals. We look forward to meeting many of them at the next Supercomputing Conference, which will be held in Dallas, USA, from 13 to 18 November 2022.
