French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the AI Action Summit, the largest global gathering on artificial intelligence. The Summit, attended by world leaders, business representatives and research institutions, highlighted the need for European cooperation and competitiveness at a time when the US and China dominate the field of AI. A key theme was investment in research and technological development to enable the effective use of AI in areas such as healthcare, education, and industry.

Artificial Intelligence offers significant opportunities to transform key sectors, including healthcare, education, and the labour market. The Summit brought together national leaders, leading experts, business leaders, and academics from more than 100 countries to coordinate joint action and ensure that Europe keeps pace with global developments in AI.

Vít Vondrák, Managing Director of IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center, attended the Summit. He met with Czech President Petr Pavel at the Czech Embassy in Paris. "We discussed, among other things, the key role of IT4Innovations in supporting artificial intelligence and cooperation at the European level. Supercomputers and advanced AI algorithms can fundamentally impact medical research, diagnostics, and the development of new treatments," said Vondrák. Together with Lenka Uldrijanová from INDRC, they presented the CLARA project to the President, bringing Czech, French and German scientists together to use supercomputers, AI, and quantum computing for neurodegenerative diseases research.

The AI Action Summit in Paris confirmed that Europe has ambitious goals for AI and intends to play a key role in its development. IT4Innovations remains actively involved in developing technologies that will shape the future of science, industry, and innovation.
