Atlanta will become a global meeting point for experts in supercomputing and quantum technologies this fall. The community of professionals will come together for a week of sessions, lectures and networking opportunities. The Supercomputing Conference (SC), taking place from 17–22 November, is a unique event bringing together thousands of scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, programmers and developers.

And the IT4Innovations national supercomputing center will not be missing out! Last year's event attracted more than 14,000 professionals from around the world, and 489 exhibitors are registered for this year's conference. IT4Innovations will be at booth 4233 at the conference exhibition. We hope that you will be able to visit us during the four days. You can find a map of exhibitors here.

We have a special bonus for visitors to our booth! Take part in the raffle of a 20000 mAh power bank thanks to the FALCON project. Visit our booth and find out how you can win this prize.

You can also look forward to a fun activity, the European HPC Passport Stamp Rally with the pan-European EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. This rally will allow you to discover the world of European supercomputing, gain new knowledge and meet representatives of leading HPC centres in person. You can pick up your European HPC Passport at any of the participating booth
(14 booths). Collect stamps from participating organisations and when you have them all, you could win a Lego set and other surprises. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the European HPC community and have some fun!

IT4Innovations is also involved in the HPC Outreach Scavenger Hunt, a competition that takes you through five booths, a fun and interactive way to explore exciting outreach activities from the HPC community. Through this HPC themed scavenger hunt, you'll be inspired to find new ways to engage with your own community and bring HPC to a wider audience. In addition to the IT4Innovations booth, you can pick up your game card at the US Department of Energy, Texas Advanced Computing Center, Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Edinburgh's EPCC. The grand prize? A Raspberry Pi. Find out more here.

IT4Innovations in the conference programme:

On Sunday 17 November (room B308, from 15:50), Lubomír Říha and Ondřej Vysocký from IT4Innovations will present VR Dashboard for Data Centre Monitoring. During the Digital Twins for HPC workshop, the IT4Innovations digital data room model will be presented. The model is being developed within the IT4Innovations INFRA Lab research groups which focus on scientific data visualisation, energy efficiency in HPC, together with system administrators. This model displays data from the MERIC software package, which enables infrastructure monitoring and optimisation of supercomputer power consumption. A photorealistic virtual reality representation is provided by the Blender extension.

In the research poster session of the conference, Paulo Silva will present Assessing the Impact of Real-Time Traffic Updates on Traffic Flow: A High-Performance Computing Perspective on Scalability and Demand. You can meet him and Jan Martinovic and Katerina Slaninova on Tuesday 19 November in room B302-B305. For more information on the research that IT4Innovations is conducting with the Sygic company, thanks to the support of the e-INFRA CZ and EVEREST projects, click here.

Karina Pešatová will participate in two sections of Birds of Feather. On Tuesday 19 November, the HPC Outreach: Mastering the Art of Science Communication session (room B211, from 12:15) will discuss the importance of HPC outreach with representatives from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Pawsey Supercomputing Research Center, and the Statewide California Earthquake Center, among others. Effective science communication is key to communicating complex ideas and engaging diverse audiences.  The session will start with lightning talks before breakout group discussions on engaging with different audiences.

The second session is Super(computing)heroes, which will take place on Wednesday 20 November (room B203, from 12:15) and will focus on supporting women in HPC. This session aims to provide especially women with the opportunity to meet influential well-recognized female HPC “superheroes” from academia, research labs, HPC centers and industry, and will be led by representatives from Julich Supercomputing Center, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, University of Tennessee Knoxville, and IT4Innovations, among others.

This year's theme is “HPC creates”. And we look forward to co-creating new possibilities, innovations and opportunities for the future of science and technology. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of research and growing the HPC community.
